Nichts ist heißer, als der Kalte Krieg! In den Folgejahren des Zweiten Weltkrieges versuchen sowohl die amerikanische CIA als auch der sowjetische KGB die Vorherrschaft in Europa und der ganzen Welt zu erlangen. In Berlin muss der CIA-Veteran Torriti feststellen, dass einige seiner Operationen nur deswegen fehlschlagen, weil ein russischer Maulwurf in den höchsten Ebenen der CIA sitzen muss. Mit seinem Protegé Jack McCauliffe beginnt er die Jagd auf den Verräter. Dabei werden die beiden über die geschichtlichen Unruhen im Berliner Sekortenbereich, den ungarischen Volksaufstand und auch die Kuba-Krise geführt. Auch der KGB ist auf der Hut und hat bereits einen Ersatzmann an höchster Stelle postiert, der die gesamte US-Wirtschaft ruinieren soll und so den Kampf für den Osten entscheidet …
