Megan und Tommy untersuchen den Tod eines Mädchens, das geradezu in Stücke gerissen wurde. Sie denken zunächst, dass jemand in einem extremen Drogenrausch verantwortlich sein könnte. Tommy findet einen Verdächtigen und wird von ihm angegriffen. Er versucht, Tommy zu beißen, und Megan glaubt, dass der Mann Tollwut hat. Doch er selbst wurde offenbar nicht gebissen. Als ein zweites Opfer, das auch infiziert zu sein scheint, eingeliefert wird, fragt sich Megan, ob das Virus mutiert ist und jetzt wie eine Grippe übertragen wird.
