Violette Fights For Baby Harmony In Rehab Violette is trying her best to get clean for her daughter, Harmony, and is choosing to go without methadone in rehab. When Violette complains of extreme back pain, fellow patient Raquel reassures her that it's just pain from withdrawal. Meanwhile, Ruby is due to attend a family counselling session at the rehab centre but when Jan offers her time off, she refuses, tired of being continually let down by her sister. In therapy, Violette admits that whilst she admires Ruby, she's also terrified of her taking Harmony away forever. Lev reminds Ruby that, unlike Luka, Violette has the chance to change her fate. Feeling guilty, Ruby changes her mind and decides to attend the session at the clinic. However when she arrives at the family counselling her and Violette clash. Ruby doubts whether Violette truly wants to get clean, and Violette storms out, in disbelief that Ruby won't give her a second chance. The sisters only reconcile after saving the day when Raquel is attacked by another patient and Ruby apologises. She now recognises the pain and danger Violette is in, and acknowledges the effort she's making. In desperation, Violette takes advantage of Ruby's softening attitude and begs her sister to take her out of rehab and reunite her with Harmony. Ruby refuses, it hurts, but she knows Violette isn't ready yet. Finding Violette upset, Raquel feeds her lies about Ruby's intention to adopt Harmony behind her back. Her worst fears confirmed, Violette is shaken when Raquel leaves heroin on her bed. Back at work, Ruby gets a call about an overdose at the rehab centre. It's Violette. As the patients look on, Ruby revives her sister, devastated. Ruby struggles to keep Violette conscious, but despite the ED's best efforts, Violette dies, leaving Ruby to parent Harmony alone. As Ruby grieves her sister, she cradles Harmony and apologises to her - their entire lives have changed in a day.
