22 Jahre nachdem das ursprüngliche Jurassic-Park-Projekt gescheitert ist, öffnet der neue Park auf dem Gelände der alten Anlage seine Tore. Nach Jahren der Forschung ist es den Wissenschaftlern gelungen, eine neue Dinosaurierart zu züchten. Als diese genetisch modifizierten Wesen der Gefangenschaft entkommen und sich auf die Jagd begeben, gerät jeder, der ihren Weg kreuzt, in tödliche Gefahr.
