Der Student Yuri Volonev nimmt an einem Wettstreit zweier Universitäten teil. Als er den Buzzer betätigt, bekommt er einen Stromschlag und fällt ins Koma. Sam und seine Kollegen ermitteln, dass Volonev an einer elektromagnetischen Waffe für die Navy gearbeitet hat und dass jemand versucht hat, in seine Compterdateien einzudringen.
