Theater-Direktor Buster Moon wittert deshalb die Chance, mit einem Casting-Wettbewerb sein klammes Etablissement zu retten. Leider macht Assistentin Matilda aus den 1000 Dollar Preisgeld versehentlich 100.000. Prompt stürmen immer mehr potenzielle Superstars Buster Moons Bühne.
