Ein Genie von einem Mann folgt den Fußspuren seines Vaters auf mehr als nur einer Weise. Park Hoon (Lee Jong Suk) wird von seinem Vater in Nordkorea groß gezogen, um wie sein Vater selbst Arzt zu werden. Jener hatte Jahre zuvor Park Hoon's Mutter in Südkorea kennengelernt, bevor er gefangen und wieder nach Nordkorea zurückgebracht wurde. Nachdem Hoon ein begabter Kardiologe geworden ist, läuft er ebenfalls über nach Südkorea, wo er in dem angesehenen Myeongwoo Universitätskrankenhaus arbeitet. Um sich dem ungewohnten, neuen Leben in Südkorea anzupassen, gibt Hoon sein Bestes bei der Arbeit mit Han Jae Joon (Park Hae Jin), ein Harvard-Absolvent. Jae Joon erkennt als erster Hoon's Talent. Ebenfalls im Team: Oh Soo Hyun (Kang So Ra), Jae Joon's Verlobte und Tochter des Krankenhausdirektors. Und die Anthologin Song Jae Hee, Hoon's Freundin aus dem Norden, ähnelt Han Sung Hee (beide gespielt von Jin Se Yeon) bis ins Detail... Kann der geniale Doctor es schaffen, ein neues Leben für sich selbst und seine Liebe im Süden aufzubauen?
