Die Geschichte von Charles Ingram, einem ehemaligen Major der britischen Armee, der Anfang der 2000er Jahre einen großen Skandal verursachte, nachdem er dabei erwischt wurde, wie er sich in der Spielshow Who Wants To Be A Millionaire einen Gewinn von 1 Million Pfund erschlichen hatte. Ingram, seine Frau Diana und ein Komplize, Tecwen Whittock, der im Publikum saß, führten zunächst den Überfall auf dem Bildschirm durch, bevor sie gefasst wurden und vor Gericht standen.

When seemingly hopeless contestant Charles Ingram returns for his second night in the hot seat, he is a brand new man with a brand new strategy. With the audience on the edge of their seats, Charles dithers and about-turns up the question ladder.

Persecuted and hounded by the public and press - Charles, Diana and Tecwen head to court. At first it seems the case for the prosecution is a fait accompli, but as the case for the defence gets underway, the jury learn there is far more to the story than they know.
