Sanzo Hoshi sets out for India to find sutras that will bring peace to the world. One day, he and his new companions encounter his old master.

Episode 2
The group encounters a trio of sisters who manage a hot spring inn, one of whom romantically pursues Hakkai. Gojo and Sanzo suspect ulterior motives.

Episode 3
The group rests at a temple that supposedly makes its guests' dreams come true. The next morning, Goku notices that the others are acting strangely.

Episode 4
Goku ends up in an impromptu spicy food-eating contest in a restaurant. When he asks for water afterward, he is shocked by the absurdly high price.

Goku and his companions find a baby and take it to a nearby village. They locate the infant’s siblings but soon notice the villagers are all children.

Hakkai and Goku break a holy statue. Worried that Gojo will tell Sanzo, they bag him up and leave him in a forest — unaware that it eats people alive.

When Goku and his group begrudgingly spend the night at a creepy old temple, they are shocked to encounter a ghost propping up a sickly Rin Rin.

Sanzo continues to India despite knowing his three companions won't be permitted entry. Along the way, a swarm of beggars hound the group for food.
