Receiving a new assignment, TV director Rika Inaba visits the public affairs office of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and meets former pilot Sorai.

As Inaba edits a food segment for TV, Akutsu warns her against being a hack. When Sorai visits the TV station, Inaba opens up to him about her past.

Episode 3
When Inaba needs a centerpiece for her SDF segment, Sorai mentions the upcoming wedding of a fighter pilot — who happens to be his former colleague.

Hoping to interview a female officer, Inaba asks Yuzuki but is flatly refused. Later, Sorai invites Inaba to visit the National Defense Academy.

Two years after the earthquake, Akutsu asks Inaba to consider doing a story on the Matsushima Base. Later, Higa tells her that Sorai is still there.
