Der ehemalige Kampfkameramann Mike Kovac ist heute Fotograf in New York City und spezialisiert sich auf schwierige und gefährliche Aufgaben, bei denen er Bilder erhalten kann, die andere Fotografen nicht können oder nicht. Manchmal erhält er oftmals widerwillig Hilfe von seinem Ansprechpartner in der Polizeibehörde, Leutnant Donovan, und Ratschläge von seinem Immigrantenvater Anton.

story and learns that a crooked fight promoter is connected with the championship bout.

Mike Kovac joins police in a patrol car as he searches for interesting pictures. They come across a young lady named Carmen who claims to have been beaten by a strange man. Her father and brother point to Phil Pike, a bystander, and accuse him of the crime.

Mike schleicht sich in die bewachte Wohnung eines arabischen Würdenträgers, nur um ihn tot vorzufinden. Danach wird er über den Kopf geschlagen und des Mordes angeklagt. Er entkommt und versucht seinen Namen zu klären, mit Hilfe des Filmstar, der in der Wohnung nebenan sitzt.
