Washington High School. Steve's best friend, Cedric Jackie Robinson, the school's physical education teacher and coach, has arranged a teaching job for Steve. Steve enters the office and is greeted by a student, Stanley Kuzsnacki. Stanley tells Steve his friends call him ""Bullethead"" because he has a bullet in his head. Cedric enters the office to find Steve and introduces him to the principal, beautiful Regina Grier, explaining they are friends from college. Principal Grier is unimpressed and demands Steve enter her office. Cedric has problems of his own: living at home with his mother and her new boyfriend is getting very difficult. However, Regina isn't interested in hearing about Steve's financial problems and only wants him to finish the personal profile he's supposed to write for the PTA newsletter. Though excited by the chance to make a good impression, Steve is stunned to learn, due to budget cuts, the school no longer has a band. Steve bets Regina he put a band together before the banquet. Dressed in a fine suit, Cedric is playing the part, too. Schmoozing Regina, Cedric discusses his new plan for diversified physical education, until he realizes Regina doesn't cast a vote for Teacher of the Month. On his way to play the piano at regina's church, Steve gets arrested and thrown in jail with Cedric. - - - Steve lets Regina down by failing to proofread the school's newsletter before it is printed. Remorseful, Steve must find a way to make amends. When her church pianist runs off on the eve of a performance, he offers to fill in. Yet, unwilling to trust him, Regina refuses and continues looking for someone else. Making matters worse, Cedric is angry with Steve because he won't share the apartment's lone parking space. After his 15th parking ticket, Cedric waits for Steve to move his car, then parks in the space. Unwilling to give it up, Cedric is reduced to walking, cabs and public transportation. When Coretta finally finds Romeo and asks for a date, despite his objections, he can't muster the courage to refuse her. Steve invites Regina to watch the Luther Vandross concert on cable and to dinner at his apartment. Overhearing, Lovita invites herself as well and informs Cedric of their new plans. With everyone now present, Lovita unveils her homemade chocolate chip cookies. They taste horrible. Having accepted the date, Romeo finds himself in an uncomfortable position: Coretta makes him carry her books and walk her to class. Cedric and Steve offer some pointers on how to change the situation. Meanwhile, Lovita plays matchmaker, posting Regina's phone number on the singles board at her church. Although her intentions are good, Regina asks Lovita to back off. After seeing just how much the choir means to the student, Steve can't bring himself to tell Romeo the truth. However,

Steve suggests he get a job. Needing entertainment for an upcoming charity banquet, Regina turns to Steve, who agrees to organize a Hi-Tops reunion. But after learning his old band has reunited without him, Steve takes up Cedric's offer to sing with him in the show. Cedric isn't content with a back-up role and quits, so Steve decides to do it solo. While fending off Lovita's criticism for his treatment of Cedric, Steve must also answer to Regina for his apparent lack of a band for the benefit. But he proposes she be his back-up singer and Regina agrees. Taking Steve's suggestion to heart, Bullethead gets a job at a shoe store.

Regina understands his pain and offers encouragement, helping to boost his self-confidence. Steve is surprised to find a pair of his old Hi-Tops bandmates at Club Mystique: T-Bone and Clyde, now touring as the Rib Tips, who are planning to audition as well. After some trash-talking, each is convinced they will earn the job. But when the Rib Tips see Steve and Cedric practicing, they realize they can't win and hatch a plan to prevent Soul Teachers from auditioning. Meanwhile, when Romeo and Bullethead realize they miscalculated after signing up for dance class in order to meet girls, they ask Cedric to help get them out. At the game, a man dressed as a giant chicken mascot approaches Regina and fondles her. The fifth-season opener marks Steve's impending 40th birthday as he laments getting older without achieving many of his goals, including a motorcycle tour of the country. Meanwhile, during the summer vacation, Regina meets and begins dating a professional basketball player on a trip to the islands, and the relationship may lead to something even deeper. But the big news this episode is that Lovita discovers that all the queasiness she's been experiencing might be because she is pregnant. - - - At the start of another school year, Steve is about to celebrate his 40th birthday. After assigning his students the task of listing their life's goals, Steve finds a similar list he prepared 20 years earlier, only to discover he has achieved little of what he wanted. Meanwhile, as Steve learns Regina is dating multi-millionaire basketball star Jordan Maddux, a pregnancy test indicates Lovita and Cedric are going to have a baby. However, Steve attempts to head off the hasty decision by attending the reading of the will. Meanwhile, in hopes they can use it to persuade Steve to chaperone their Senior Class trip, Romeo, Bullethead and Lydia steal his briefcase. And when Cedric heads out of town for a coaching convention, he leaves Lovita to entertain his irascible Grandma Puddin'. Steve handles the arrangements for the school's annual Teachers Appreciation Day assembly, angering Cedric, who usually plans the event. The acting principal then suffers from the stress of organizing the occasion and dating a younger woman. - - - With Regina at home recovering from the death of her husband, Steve is made Acting Principal at school. But when Steve takes on the responsibility for the upcoming Teachers Appreciation Assembly, Cedric says the event has always been his to plan. Undaunted, Steve forges ahead and, ignoring Cedric's complaints, chooses Bullethead to host the event with Lydia and Romeo serving as his writers. Meanwhile, Steve asks Lovita and Cedric to entertain Regina so he can invite his new girlfriend to the apartment for a romantic dinner. Upset with his usurping Cedric's authority, Lovita demands that Steve turn the assembly plans back over to her husband. But when Cedric and Lovita appeal to Regina, Steve collapses from what appears to be a heart attack.

Steve manages an all-girl singing group called Jail-Bait, and books a gig for them that he hopes will revive his own show-business career. His plans may be dashed when Regina's advice to the girls causes them to question their act. - - - To mark his return to show business, Steve agrees to manage the all-girl-singing group, ""Jailbait."" Ignoring Regina's accusation that he is exploiting the young girls, Steve hires Cedric to help with the band's choreography for an important talent showcase at Club Mystique. Meanwhile, as Romeo takes advantage of the fact that Bullethead looks exactly like rap singer Reeses Pieces, Cedric and Lovita discover arguing puts them in the mood for lovemaking. After Vicky, Lauren, Karen and Tammy stumble into a meeting of her Teenaged Feminists, Regina convinces them to trade their skimpy outfits for a more conservative look. From assuming responsibility for the athletic department budget, to reviewing the results of the career placement tests, Regina reasserts her authority at school. But when she decides to cut the budget for his new state of the art study hall, Steve decides he's had enough and resigns. Steve conspires with his friends and students to attend a celebrity golf tournament and appear to be in school at the same time after Regina refuses to let him take the day off. Meanwhile, Ced tries to pitch another one of his get-rich-quick schemes, which he calls ""Bro"" Balls, (black golf balls) to the contestants at the golf tournament. - - - With Cedric as his caddy, Steve is all set to play in the Chi-Town Golf Invitational. However, the plans to appear at the star-studded event are called into question when, unlike Cedric, Steve fails to ask Regina for the day off. And when Steve tries declaring the day of the golf tournament ""Self-Reliance Day,"" making it unnecessary for his students to attend class, Regina demands he be there to teach. Episode 1
The sixth and final season begins as Regina pulls the plug on faculty displays of affection on school grounds. The principal's newly minted relationship with Steve prompts the edict after the music man tries to kiss her at school. Regina ushers her co-workers into her office and tells them that they all need to set an example for the students regarding proper behavior. She is adamant that the students never find out that she is ""breaking off a piece for 'Big Daddy'"". However, she fails to heed her own advice and soon Bullethead catches her in a clinch with Steve in her office. Elsewhere, Cedric is upset by wife Lovita's uncharacteristic lack of interest in him, and finds odd ways to channel his energies.

Episode 2
Lovita advises Steve to give Regina a duplicate key to his apartment to show how serious he is about their relationship. Meanwhile, Lydia downplays her intelligence to help her boyfriend, Arthur, feel better about himself, as Lovita begins to feel left-out when her girlfriends seem to pay more attention to Cedric than to her.

Steve's parents are coming to town to visit, but to avoid the pressures of marriage he excludes Regina from their dinner plans, leaving Regina offended and Steve unable to explain. Cedric advises Steve to write down his feelings on paper to help him later explain the reasoning behind his actions; unfortunately, his venting mistakenly gets sent to Regina via e-mail.

Steve is confused by Regina's mixed signals when first she wants to keep their relationship casual, but then pulls out all the stops for their one-month anniversary including a romantic dinner, a hand-knitted sweater, and a bed covered in rose petals. Meanwhile, Steve allows the class members to each teach a lesson to the class.

In response to staff rumors of favoritism, Regina makes Steve proctor a test during the annual faculty luncheon. But a disturbance in the cafeteria causes him to miss the appointment, which allows Romeo and Bullethead to cheat on the exam. Meanwhile, Cedric and Lovita try to con their way into getting their still unborn child accepted into a prestigious school for children.

Regina goes on a singles outing that she booked prior to dating Steve, and when she calls him, another woman answers. Meanwhile, Lovita wants Cedric to sell his car so they can buy a minivan.

Regina's cousin stays in the principal's home after leaving her husband, but her arrogance irks Regina's friends, particularly Steve, whose weekend plans with his main squeeze are jeopardized. Meanwhile, Cedric and Lovita both think that they've accidentally learned the gender of their unborn child after promising each other that they would wait until the birth.

Steve plans an elegant dinner party with friends in celebration of his relationship with Regina, but when Regina starts assuming responsibility and takes over with the details and planning of the dinner party, Steve reminds her that ""Big Daddy"" is in charge at ""home"" and Regina is in charge at work, which leads to an argument about her bossy demeanor. Meanwhile, Cedric is hesitant to participate in Lovita's childbirth class; and Steve's students plan senior-class pranks.

Steve (Steve Harvey) and Lovita (Terri J. Vaughn) square off against each other in sleazy campaign tactics when they run for one open slot on the apartment building tenant board and the usually friendly ""game night"" turns ugly.

In the midst of planning Lovita's (Terri J. Vaughn) baby shower, Regina (Wendy Raquel Robinson) has to suddenly leave town and rely on Steve (Steve Harvey) to plan the shower, leaving all of the shower games, goodie bags and girlie details in ""Big Daddy's"" hands. Meanwhile, Romeo and Bullethead create a stack of fake teacher evaluations aimed at discrediting Mr Hightower.
