Inhaltsbeschreibung

Eine anständige Südstaatenfamilie sieht anders aus: Peggy ('Golden Girls' Star Rue McClanahan) ist das Oberhaupt der Ingrams. Schwester Sissy (Beth Grant) scheint ohne Zigarette im Mund nicht existieren zu können. Peggys beste Freundin Bitsy (Popikone und 'Grease' Star Olivia Newton-John) ist eine abgehalfterte Barsängerin und Brandstifterin mit Knasterfahrung. Eingesperrt seit vielen Jahren ist auch Peggys Sohn Earl 'Brother Boy' (Leslie Jordan), allerdings in der Psychiatrie. Er muss sich dort von einem 'schlimmen Fall von Transvestitismus' erholen und hat ständig Visionen vom Geist der Countrysängerin Tammy Wynette. Seine Schwestern LaVonda (Ann Walker) und Latrelle (Bonnie Bedelia) haben auch ohne ihren Bruder genug damit zu tun, sich das Leben gegenseitig schwer zu machen. Einziger 'Normalo' in der Familie scheint Peggys attraktiver Enkel Ty (Jason Dottley) zu sein, der sich unnötig viele Probleme mit seinem Coming-out bereitet.

LaVonda, Latrelle and Peggy go to the mental institution to see Brother Boy, who's lapsed into a coma. Noleta tries to kill G.W. Ty becomes overly self-conscious about appearing nude on stage. Latrelle's Valium addiction begins to spiral out of control.

Noleta considers several methods of murdering G.W; Bitsy Mae finds out the truth about the fire that burned down her mobile home; Ty finds himself hiding his sexual orientation from friends; Sissy and LaVonda discover Latrelle's stash of pills.

Brother Boy awakens from his coma and butts heads with Dr. Eve. Meanwhile, Sissy squares off with a neighbor's goat, Ty befriends an older neighbor, and Peggy sleeps with G.W.
