After 10 years abroad, surgeon Kazuaki Okita returns to Danjo Memorial Hospital to perform heart surgery on the hospital's director, Toranosuke.

Mifuyu suggests a risky procedure for her tumor to Okita. Okita thinks a teen girl may have breast cancer, but another doctor denies the possibility.

Okita prepares for Mifuyu's surgery. When Okita’s father Isshin has a heart attack, Hamura offers to operate, but Isshin insists that his son do it.

Als Mifuyus OP verschoben wird, erklärt sich Masao bereit, einen Regierungsminister zu operieren und bekräftigt, dass er Mifuyu selbst operieren will, wenn alles gut geht.

Denounced by Toranosuke and the others, Masao leaves the hospital and disappears. Okita continues preparing for Mifuyu's operation without him.
