The Riches
Wayne Malloy, seine Frau Dahlia, sowie die drei Kinder Cael, Di Di und Sam gehören zum fahrenden Volk und schlugen sich bisher weitestgehend mit Diebstahl und Betrug durchs Leben. Während Wayne, das Familienoberhaupt, der geborene Schwindler ist, hat seine Frau die letzten zwei Jahre im Gefängnis verbracht und hat seitdem mit einem nicht zu unterschätzenden Drogenproblem zu kämpfen. Kaum ist die kleinkriminelle Familie wieder vereint, machen sich die fünf in ihrem Wohnmobil aus dem Staub, um der Zwangsehe von Tochter Di Di zu entkommen, jedoch nicht ohne vorher noch schnell die Familienkasse einzusacken. Auf ihrer Flucht vor dem Clan werden die Malloys in einen tragischen Unfall verwickelt, der ihr ganzes Leben von Grund auf ändern soll. Während das wohlhabende Ehepaar Rich bei dem Unfall ums Leben kommt, beschließen die Malloys kurzerhand einfach deren Identität anzunehmen und fortan als „The Riches“ weiterzuleben.

The real Doug Rich's ex-wife jeopardizes the Malloys' cover when she comes after "Doug" for missed alimony payments. Meanwhile, Di Di falls for a buffer, and Cael finds a way to capitalize on his unusual skills at school. Also, Dahlia's pill addiction continues to worsen and now threatens to tear the family apart.
