In dieser Serien-Neuauflage aus französischer Produktion erleben die Zuschauer den frech-faulen Kater Garfield zum ersten Mal komplett CGI-animiert sowie in 3D und HD. Dabei fallen Garfields schrullige Missgeschicke hier in der Regel derber und bizarrer aus als in den bekannten älteren Comics oder in vorangegangenen Serien. Natürlich sind auch Herrchen Jon Arbuckle und Hund Odie wieder mit dabei. Und sogar der 50er-Jahre-Fernseher im Wohnzimmer hat den Sprung ins 21. Katzilla
Garfield disguises himself as "Catzilla" for Halloween, but people mistake him for the real Catzilla, a deadly creature who escaped from the zoo.

Garfield and Odie get their bodies swapped by a Saturnian alien when it finds out Odie is tormented by Garfield. Odie wanders off to all the people who hate Garfield without knowing they will hurt him so Garfield must protect his body from the neighborhood dogs, Herman Post and the Chef.

Squeak and his family move in to Jon's house while Jon and Odie are out. Garfield allows Squeak's family to remain in the house on the condition that they be his servants. Jon comes back and Garfield has to remove Squeak and his family before Jon called Rat-Tator Pest, who's hefty bill would have meant that Jon would not be able to afford lasagna for years.

Garfield gets an awful tasting Pizza from Mama Meany's Pizza Palace, Vito's rival. Mama Meany is putting Vito out of business through coupons, contests and discounts and plans to expand the restaurant to take over Vito's. Garfield arranges for Eddie Gourmand to compare Mama Meany pizza with Vito's, bringing the closure of Mama Meany, and resumed success of Vito.

Prinz Nermal
Nermal lives with Garfield for 10 days because his owner is out of town. Nermal fakes a leg injury and Jon feels pity for Nermal, making Garfield and Odie do whatever he requests. Garfield and Odie get rid of him so they could enjoy their normal house and lives once again.

After he has done his good deeds he goes back to the house and finds the the TV is back and the old one is put back in storage. Garfield is glad he did good deeds and returns to watching colored television.

Gutes Wetter, schlechte Stimmung
Eddie Gourmand, a food critic, is fired from his show only to be replaced by his station manager who wants to promote a healthier way of cooking. After a chance meeting in a movie theater, Jon invites him back to his house for dinner.
But when Eddie injures his foot because of Garfield, he has to stay at Jon’s and orders him to take care of him until he is healed or else he’ll sue. Not only is Eddie awfully demanding, he also has quite the appetite (not unlike someone else we know), and is soon making everyone’s life impossible. But Garfield is not one to be upstaged in his own home…

The TV in the living room needs to be fixed. While it is away Jon brings out his old TV. Jon shows Garfield a show he used to like when he was a kid. Garfield watches the show, but he keeps complaining because there is no color. The TV shockingly speaks back and takes away Garfield's colors until he becomes nice enough to get them back. After he has done his good deeds he goes back to the house and finds the the TV is back and the old one is put back in storage. Garfield is glad he did good deeds and returns to watching colored television.

Nachdem Garfield sich mit seinen Co-Stars verstritten hat, macht er erstmal ein kleines Nickerchen. Dabei hat er einen sehr zwiespältigen Traum, der ihm zunächst sehr gefällt, dann aber sehr anstrengend wird. Er träumt, dass er selbst alle Rollen in seiner Fernsehserie übernimmt und sieht sich mit einem Mal als Odie, Jon und sogar als Drusilla und Minerva. Als ein Agent ihm in seinem Traum anbietet, Garfield reich und berühmt zu machen, lässt er sich auf Probeaufnahmen ein. Dabei muss er gegen Nermal antreten. Keiner von beiden bekommt den Job, aber dafür sieht Garfield sich auf einmal in der Rolle von Vito. Als die beiden über Anchovies in in Streit geraten, wird Garfield klar, dass es viel zu kompliziert ist, die Rollen aller anderen zu übernehmen und er heißt seine Freunde wieder in seiner Fernsehshow willkommen. Mit Hilfe seiner Unsichtbarkeits-Maschine gelingt es dem selbst ernannten Genie auch tatsächlich, Garfield Angst einzujagen – und nebenbei auch noch das Haus von Jon zu verwüsten. Jon glaubt Garfield und Odie natürlich kein Wort über den angeblichen Geist und setzt die beiden kurzerhand auf eine Trockenfutter-Diät. Das kann Garfield nicht auf sich sitzen lassen und er macht sich auf die Suche nach dem vermeintlichen Geist. Liz ist in den Urlaub gefahren und hat ihr Haustier, Mrs. Frettchen bei Jon einquartiert. Das Tier ist nicht nur sehr gefrässig, sondern auch so blitzschnell, dass es Garfield ständig sein Essen vor der Nase wegschnappt. Das kann Garfield natürlich auf keinen Fall zulassen und er versucht mit Hilfe von Nermal und einem Raketenrucksack schneller zu werden, als der gefrässige Hausgast. Als ihm das nicht gelingt, bleibt ihm nur noch eine Wahl: Er will Mrs. Frettchen mit einem Schnellfett-Pulver so dick machen, dass sie noch langsamer ist als er. Doch da Garfield das Wort „Sport“ kaum aussprechen mag, ist er sehr froh zu hören, dass Biff ebenfalls zur Couch Potatoe mutiert, wenn er mal traurig ist. Also sorgt der schlaue Kater dafür, dass Biffs Freundin Emily ihn verlässt. Sein Plan geht auf – Biff sitzt nur noch rum, wird immer dicker und hat so gar keine Lust, Garfield die Freuden des Sport näherzubringen. Doch als plötzlich Bruno, der gemeine, Mäuse fressende Kater im Garten auftaucht und alle Mäuse entführt, ist guter Rat teuer. Schließlich war es immer Biff, der das gemeine Tier sonst verjagt hat. Mein Freund Nermal
Nermal läuft einer Hunde-Gang über den Weg, die nicht gut auf ihn zu sprechen ist. Nach einigem Überreden durch Odie rettet Garfield seinen ungeliebten Artgenossen schließlich vor der wilden Meute. Nermal kann es kaum fassen, dass Garfield ihm geholfen hat und beschließt von nun an sein neuer bester Freund zu sein. Das will Garfield allerdings so gar nicht gefallen. Aber wie kann er Nermal wieder loswerden? Ganz einfach – Nermal muss ihn retten, denn dann sind die beiden quitt und alles wäre wieder wie vorher. Doch gerade als Garfield sich in eine gefährliche Situation begeben hat, aus der Nermal ihn retten könnte, beschließt dieser, dass er sich doch lieber wieder ausschließlich um sich selbst kümmert.
