Susan und Mary sind in ihren feschen Nachbarn Gil verliebt. Um ihn von sich zu überzeugen, vertrauen die Tüftlerinnen nicht etwa auf ihren natürlichen Charme, sondern auf ihre eigens erfundenen „Liebeskaugummis“. Nachdem Gil von der Süßigkeit gekostet hat, verliebt er sich tatsächlich in die Mädchen. Leider gibt es aber auch Nebenwirkungen – und die haben es in sich: Gil verwandelt sich urplötzlich in ein Affenmonster und macht in dieser Gestalt die Stadt unsicher.
