Say "hello" to the little boy named Caillou. He lives with his mommy and daddy, sister Rosie and cat Gilbert and he is getting bigger every day. His imagination is also expanding with help from his stuffed friends Matthew Theodore Bear and Rexie the dinosaur. This episode is all about growing up. What will Caillou be when he grows up? WIll he be a pack-rat like his daddy? What's it like to ride the schoolbus? Does he have to grow up if that means that someday he will be TOO old? Caillou is pretending to be a pirate. To stay healthy it takes alot of work. You have to wash, brush your teeth, eat good and get plenty of excercise. As Caillou finds out, you also have to go to the dentist and the doctor for regular check-ups. Even daddys get sick sometimes, unfortunately for Caillou it is on the day when daddy was going to take him to work. That's ok because Caillou has to help mommy take care of daddy. When Teddy gets sick he has Rexy and Gilbert to make him all better again. Those itchy bumps can mean only one thing...Caillou has the chicken pox!

When you're a pet, you must go to the vet. Like humans, pets need to eat well and get exercise in order to stay healthy. Caillou and Gilbert learn that sometimes you even have to rescue your pet. Poor Gilbert gets stuck in a tree, but once he is safe and sound Caillou gets a ride in the fire truck and even gets a tour of the station house. As the family pet, Gilbert puts up with a lot, including playing dress-up, but in the end most of what he gets is love. Even Rexy enjoys the attention that comes with being Gilbert's pet.

Caillou is a big help around the house, especially when it comes to helping to take care of Rosie.

This episode, Caillou spends being creative. With grandpa's help he makes a paper hat for his daddy. Later with grandma, he and Rosie make their own instruments so that they can play with grandma in her band. Real kids get get creative and draw, paint and make things out of clay. Caillou, Leo and Clementine put on a show at school. Caillou plays the very important part of the sun. Even Theodore Bear gets into the act, making a collage with things from the garden.

In one segment, Caillou learns that he lives at 17 Pine St. when a letter addressed to him is mistakenly delivered to his next-door neighbor Sarah. In other segments, Caillou learns to ice skate and attempts teaching the alphabet to his little sister Rosie. Beginning with this episode, there is only one puppet segment and it features Rexy forming a band. Rexy is looking for musicians and instruments and he manages to get Teddy and Gilbert to join his band, although at first Gilbert won't join right away, as he's busying practicing his tai-chi. He comes up with a name for them, ""Rexy's Rock Band"" and chooses the trumpet for himself to play. When Rexy tries to play the trumpet at first, it sounds awful and he believes the instrument to be broken. The puppets tell him that he just needs to learn how to play and practie. Rexy tries again and is still awful, so he wants to give up. Gilbert says that he had trouble with tai-chi at first, but the important thing is to not give up and keep pr

Caillou plays in the rain, plays pretend and learns about playing by the rules. He also pretends to be a superhero, with his little sister, Rosie.

Caillou gets a Valentine's Day card, learns about dancing, plays baseball and has a sleepover.

Caillou plays at the park, finds an old toy train, receives a gift from Grandma and creates a ""doghouse"" (cathouse?) for Gilbert. Today, Rexy is outside pretending to be an explorer. He's already conquered ""Mount Sandbox"" and now he's going to explore the world around him. Teddy comes out and Rexy tells him that he's searching for such things as icebergs and volcanoes. He thinks he hears a volcano, but it turns out that it's actually thunder. Gilbert shows up and says that it was thunder and they'd best be getting inside. Rexy can't believe this is happening. He's not done exploring yet. It's starting to rain and it's totally spoiled his plans. Gilbert and Teddy say that rain is important. It helps to water the flowers, among other things. Rexy is still upset and sings a song about how there's nothing to do and he wasn't expecting this. Eventually, he changes his mind and decides that it could be fun to play indoors. Just then, though, the sky clears up and Gilbert and Teddy send him o

Caillou takes a subway ride with Mom; Dad helps Caillou decorate his bike; Caillou sees a construction site; he and his family shop for a new car; Caillou takes a boat ride and learns to steer.

In the puppet segment, Rexy, Teddy and Gilbert are assembling a bird feeder, step by step. Gilbert has the instructions and he says that the first step is to take the birdfeeder out of the box. They've already done that, so they move to the next step, which is to assemble the birdfeeder. Hearing that, Rexy wonders if that step comes with instructions. Teddy looks at it and figures it out, though, so it is quickly assembled. Gilbert reads Step 3, find a perfect spot and hang the birdfeeder. So the puppets begin looking for a spot, singing a song as they do, about how ""working together is so much fun"" and ""you help me and I'll help you."" They find a perfect spot, but notice that the birds aren't coming. They wonder what's wrong at first and Rexy asks if perhaps there's a Step 4. Gilbert looks at the instructions and sees that Rexy is absolutely right. The fourth and most important step is to put food in the birdfeeder. "Caillou and the Big Slide" At playschool, Caillou pretends to be a mountain-climber. It comes time for a trip to the pool. There are swings there and Caillou and his friends enjoy swinging on them. Then, their teacher Ms. Martin introduces them to Mary, the lifeguard. Leo calls Caillou to come try the waterslide. Caillou comes over, but seems a bit scared by it. He climbs up the ladder, but then climbs back down. Ms. Martin tells him that there was a time when she was afraid of swinging on the swings. She suggests that he give it another try. Caillou imagines that he is rafting down a mountain. He gives it a go and finds that he enjoys the waterslide. "Caillou the Sailor" Mommy and Daddy are all dressed up and going out for a party. They tell Caillou and Rosie that Grandpa coming over to babysit and bringing a surprise. Grandpa arrives, carrying a bag. However, when Caillou asks what's in it, Grandpa quips that it's his dirty socks and asks Caillou if he can wash them. Caillou calls him on this and he admits that it is the surprise --- a book about ships and sailing and a small telescope. Caillou has fun looking through the telescope, but Rosie has trouble closing just one eye to look through it. Grandpa reads a story from the book and suggests that Caillou and Rosie can be his crew. There's a storm outside, but Grandpa works the sound of the thunder into the game. Rosie starts to get tired and Grandpa puts her to bed. Caillou fantasizes about being the captain of a ship. Mommy and Daddy arrive home and Caillou shows Daddy the telescope. Grandpa then puts Caillou to bed and "Captain" Caillou says that he's not afraid of thunder anymore. "Caillou and the Creepy Crawlies" Caillou and Rosie are playing in the living room and Gilber's there too. He spots a spider and starts playing with it. Rosie notices this and says that the spider is yucky. Caillou tries to tell her that it isn't, mentioning that he learned all about bugs in playschool. Mommy suggests that they have a picnic outside and Caillou can draw some pictures of bugs and teach Rosie all about them. At first, it doesn't work, but then a ladybug lands on Rosie and she thinks it's kind of pretty. Caillou then shows her ants, noting that his teacher, Ms. Martin, read the class about all of the different jobs that ants have. He shows her a caterpillar and then a butterfly, and Rosie happily states that she likes the "flutterby." Caillou imagines that he's as small as a bug and that Rosie is flying high in the air on a "flutterby." Back in the real world, it would seem that Caillou has in fact taught Rosie to like bugs.

Toll! Endlich hat Papi auch einen Computer. Clementines Eltern haben längst einen zu Hause und Clementine kann schon tolle Spiele drauf spielen. Caillou will das natürlich auch. Doch er muss lernen, dass auch andere an den Computer wollen. Beim Spielen entdecken die Kinder ein tolles Fossil. Sie bringen es in die Bibliothek. Ihr Fossil soll neben dem Dinosaurier ausgestellt werden....

Caillou und Rosie dürfen mit Papi im Auto durch die Waschstraße fahren. Rosie hat Angst. Doch Caillou kann sie beruhigen. Als der Babysitter eines abends einen Kinderatlas mitbringt, ist Caillou begeistert. Und ruck, zuck wird das Haus in eine Abenteuerlandschaft verwandelt....

Caillou und seine Mutter begleiten Clementine und ihre Mutter zu einem Picknick. Caillou hat aber schon vorher so viel gegessen, dass in seinem Magen kein Platz mehr für Clementines Sandwich ist. Dabei hat sie es doch extra für ihn zubereitet! Als Caillou heraus bekommt, dass seine Eltern abends eine Party feiern, will er so lange aufbleiben, bis die Gäste kommen....

Als der Ausflug in den Zoo ausfällt, spielen Caillou, Clementine und Leo im Garten Zoobesuch. Das ist richtig spannend! Julie muss babysitten. Sie erklärt Caillou, dass sie ein tolles Spiel mitgebracht hat. Als Caillou aber sieht, dass es aus lauter Papierschnipseln besteht, versteht er die Welt nicht mehr. Das soll toll sein?...

Der Babysitter fällt aus. Zuerst springt Mr. Hinkle ein, dann kommt auch noch Mrs. Martin dazu. Ehe die Beiden sich versehen, ist Caillou zum Entertainer geworden und unterhält das ganze Haus. Caillou darf Clementine und ihre Eltern zum Erdbeerpflücken begleiten. Er findet das zwar sehr spannend, aber es ist doch etwas anderes, wenn man nicht mit den eigenen Eltern unterwegs ist?...

Caillous Familie will verreisen. Caillou ist aufgeregt und will seinen Koffer selber packen. Leider passen aber nicht alle Kleider hinein. Und auch für sein Spielzeug ist nicht genug Platz. Schließlich kommt Mami zu Hilfe. Warum nur gelingt es Caillou nicht, seine Schnürsenkel zuzubinden? Er ist ungeduldig und versucht es immer wieder, bis Caillou merkt, dass man Geduld auch lernen kann....

Caillou und die Familie machen einen Ausflug mit dem Wagen. Caillou findet die Fahrt langweilig, weil er nicht spielen kann. Spannend wird es erst, als sie ein Picknick neben einer Kuhwiese einlegen. Eines Abends hört Caillou ein merkwürdiges Geräusch. Woher kommt es? Er sucht in allen Zimmern, bis er schließlich im Keller auf Gilbert stößt, der mit einer Quietschepuppe spielt. Auf dem Speich...

Auch Caillou hat mal schlechte Laune! Deswegen beschimpft er alle und alles als "dumm". Mami bittet ihn, damit aufzuhören. Doch Caillou versteht gar nicht, was daran so schlimm sein soll. Bis ihn Rosie nachäfft. Da begreift er, dass Schimpfwörter verletzen können. Im Park lernt Caillou einen Jungen kennen. Er stellt ihm eine Frage, doch der Junge antwortet nicht. Bis dessen Mama Caillou erklär...

Endlich ist es soweit! Der Postbote bringt Caillou die Einladung für Xaviers Geburtstagsparty. Auf der Karte ist eine Pinata abgebildet. Was ist das bloß, wunder sich Caillou. Mami verrät nichts, denn es macht mehr Spaß, das selber während der Party herauszufinden. Caillou muss seiner Mami versprechen, dass er seine kleine Schwester Rosie auch in der Sandkiste spielen lässt. Das passt Caillou ...

Caillou hat ausgerechnet sein Lieblings-Shirt mit Grapefruitsaft beschmutzt. Als Oma es wäscht, verfärbt es sich. Caillou findet das neue Shirt jedoch viel schöner... Caillou und Oma verbringen zusammen mit Hund Rover den Tag in einem Altersheim, in dem Oma immer aushilft. Es wird ein spannender Tag, an dem Caillou viele neue Leute kennen lernt und sogar Spaß am Kartenspiel bekommt......

Caillous Mini-Marathon: Caillou möchte genau wie sein Papa einen Marathon laufen. Sein Vater erklärt ihm, dass das nur etwas für Erwachsene ist, aber Caillou ist überzeugt, dass er das auch schafft. Beim gemeinsamen Lauf mit Papa merkt Caillou aber, dass es schwerer ist, als es aussieht. Als er sieht, wie seine kleine Schwester Rosie langsam vor sich hin trottet, wird ihm klar, dass jeder sein eigenes Tempo hat – und er beschließt, stattdessen einen Mini-Marathon zu laufen! Leinen los!: Caillou liebt es, mit Papa und Opa segeln zu gehen. Doch er will unbedingt der Kapitän sein! Papa und Opa erklären ihm, dass seine Aufgabe als Ausguck sehr wichtig ist, aber Caillou ist nicht überzeugt ... bis er ihnen hilft, die Schatzbucht zu finden, indem er wichtige Orientierungspunkte entdeckt und ihnen den Weg weist. Bin ich schon groß?: Caillous Schwester Rosie hat einen Wachstumsschub, und nun will er auch größer werden. Er versucht alles Mögliche – viel essen, Sport treiben und sogar tagsüber schlafen. Doch nichts hilft! Als sein Freund André ihm erzählt, dass es nicht immer toll ist, groß zu sein, weil man manche Dinge nicht mehr machen kann, findet Caillou es in Ordnung, klein zu sein ... zumindest noch für eine Weile.

Papis Puzzles: An einem Regentag weiß Caillou nichts mit sich anzufangen, bis Papi alte Puzzles findet. Gemeinsam legen sie ein Piratenpuzzle, doch es fehlt ein Teil. Um den enttäuschten Caillou aufzuheitern, startet Papi eine Piraten-Schatzsuche nach dem fehlenden Stück. Spiel mit mir!: Caillou langweilt sich, denn seine ganze Familie ist beschäftigt. Als er einen Marienkäfer trifft, bemerkt er, dass auch die Tiere fleißig sind. Caillou versteht, dass jeder mal zu tun hat, und beginnt, seine neuen Freunde zu zeichnen. Caillous Pechsträhne: Caillou hat einen schlechten Tag und fürchtet, dass sein Pech auch beim Gedichtvortrag im Kindergarten anhalten wird. Frau Howard rät ihm zu einem Glücksbringer. Auf der Suche danach merkt Caillou, dass er kein Glück, sondern nur Selbstvertrauen und Übung braucht.

Das Kätzchen-Dilemma: Während Caillou verzweifelt nach seinem geliebten Rexi sucht, findet er ein kleines Kätzchen. Er möchte es behalten, doch Mama und Papa sagen Nein – sie haben ja schon Gilbert! Als Samantha an der Tür klingelt, um ihr entlaufenes Kätzchen „Schnurri“ abzuholen, holt Caillou das Tierchen … und findet dabei Rexi! Er erinnert sich, wie schlimm es ist, etwas zu verlieren, das man lieb hat, und gibt das Kätzchen glücklich seiner Besitzerin zurück. Caillous Lieblingspullover: Oma hat Caillou einen wunderschönen Pullover gestrickt. Er liebt ihn und trägt ihn jeden Tag – sogar, als er schon schmutzig ist! An einem heißen Tag beschließt Caillou, ihn auszuziehen, vergisst ihn aber auf dem Spielplatz. Er macht sich große Sorgen, dass Oma böse auf ihn sein wird! Als sie den Pullover am nächsten Tag unversehrt finden, will Caillou ihn für immer sicher in seiner Schublade aufbewahren. Doch Oma erklärt ihm, dass der Pullover dafür gemacht ist, getragen zu werden – nur eben nicht jeden Tag. Caillous große Ausgrabung: Caillou ist frustriert, als er einen Modell-Lastwagen zusammenbauen will, und beschließt aufzugeben. Papa schlägt eine Pause vor und nimmt ihn mit zu einer Besorgung. Sie besuchen Eriks Ausgrabungsstätte, wo Caillou lernt, dass manche Dinge Zeit und Mühe kosten, sich die Anstrengung am Ende aber lohnt. Wieder zu Hause stellt Caillou sein Modell fertig und ist stolz auf seine Arbeit.

Caillou dirigiert: Der Kindergarten bekommt Besuch von der Musikerin Liz. Sie zeigt den Kindern verschiedene Instrumente und Caillou freut sich, als er zum „Dirigenten“ des Orchesters ernannt wird. Er ist so begeistert, dass er alles und jeden dirigieren will – im Kindergarten und zu Hause! Als Caillou sich weigert, seinen Taktstock abzugeben, lernt er, wie leicht man die Gefühle anderer verletzt und dass es schöner ist, andere auch mal ranzulassen. Captain Caillou und der fantastische Leo fliegen als Superhelden durch das Haus, können sich aber nicht einigen, wer die Welt retten darf. Jeder will der große Held sein, der die wichtige „Rettungsaktion“ anführt. Als Papa sie bittet, ihm beim Jäten der „wilden Unkraut-Oger“ zu helfen, stellen Caillou und Leo fest, dass alles viel einfacher ist, wenn sie zusammenarbeiten. Caillou brüllt: Nachdem er eine Tierdoku über Löwen gesehen hat, beschließt Caillou, selbst ein Löwe zu sein! Er brüllt und tapst durchs Haus, woraufhin Mama und Papa ihn daran erinnern, dass alles seine Zeit und seinen Ort hat. Caillou erkennt den Nachteil des Löwenseins, als er mit seinem Gebrüll ein Baby im Park erschreckt. Er stellt fest, dass es für alles eine richtige Zeit gibt – und dass er manchmal einfach nur ein Junge sein muss.

Endlich gehen Caillou, Rosie, Mami und Papi in den Zoo. Dort sehen die Kinder nicht nur Papageien, Affen und Nashörner, sondern auch Caillous Lieblinge: die Elefanten! Omi und Caillou machen einen Ausflug auf eine Schaffarm. Dort lebt ein zehnjähriges Mädchen namens Mary. Sie erklärt Caillou alles über Schafe, das Scheren und die Wolle, die man aus Schafsfell herstellt. Als ein Lamm verschwinde...

Papas Baseball-Team, die Tiger, spielen im Park. Mami, Rosie und Caillou feuern das Team an. Caillou möchte zu gerne mitspielen, aber er ist noch zu klein. Dafür darf er als Wasserjunge helfen. Ein toller Job! Mami, Papi, Caillou und Rosie fahren Schlitten. Caillou findet es herrlich, den Hügel hinab zu sausen. Da entdeckt er einen Hundeschlitten. Der Besitzer erlaubt Caillou, auch eine Tour m...

Papi und Caillou wollten Opi eigentlich abholen, um mit ihm Schlittschuh laufen zu gehen. Doch es hat zu sehr geschneit und Opas Einfahrt muss frei geschaufelt werden. Papi und Caillou helfen. Das heißt: Caillou baut aus dem aufgehäuften Schnee Schlösser. Opa bringt Caillou und Rosie bei, wie man Bowling spielt. Es ist ein großer Spaß. Und Omi hat sogar Preise für die fleißigen Bowler vorberei...

Caillou freut sich, als Frau Martin mit ihm und seinen Freunden für ein paar besondere Aktivitäten in den Park geht. Sie veranstalten ein Sitzsackrennen, doch die Regeln sind nicht leicht zu verstehen und es kommt dabei zu einigen lustigen Pannen.

Caillous Pläne ändern sich, als Papa das Auto braucht und er mit Mama die U-Bahn nehmen muss. Dabei lernt er, dass eine Planänderung auch Spaß machen kann: Er studiert den Streckenplan, kauft Fahrkarten und hört den Musikern zu. Außerdem lernt Caillou buchstäblich, was Recycling bedeutet: Als er Leos neues Fahrrad sieht, wünscht er sich, sein eigenes Rad wäre auch etwas Besonderes.

Freitags isst die Familie immer Pizza. Aber diesmal wird sie nicht beim Pizzaservice bestellt, sondern Caillou darf seine Pizza selbst machen. Die Eltern sind übers Wochenende verreist und Omi und Opi passen auf Caillou und Rosie auf. Caillou ist etwas irritiert, dass alles etwas anders ist als mit den Eltern.
