Goro Kumagaya ist ein etablierter, großgewachsener Torwart aus der Mittelschule, der in die Yokonan-Highschool eintreten wollte, die in Bezug auf ihren Fußballklub zur Elite zählt, nur um zu scheitern und aufgrund eines Unfalls in der niedrig eingestuften Schule gegenüber von Yokonan zu landen.
