Moesha copes with the fact that her father, Frank, has a new wife, Dee, which means that her plans of caring for Frank and brother, Myles, are over. Moesha soon becomes jealous when she finds Dee taking her place as the breakfast chef. Then when Moesha asks if she can go to The Den, a local hangout, Dee opposes since it's a school night. So Moesha simply gets Frank to agree by making him feel guilty about forcing her to wait until she's sixteen before she can date. Later, Moesha joins her boy-crazy friends Kim, Trina and Gail at The Den where the school's most handsome fellow named Ohagi begins to recite poetry. When he leaves The Den with Moesha, it becomes clear that they've been secretly dating. Moesha arrives late for dinner. When Dee reprimands her, Frank once again stops her. Dee complains to Frank about undermining her authority as a parent. Realizing that he's no longer a single parent, Frank apologizes and backs off. Head cheerleader Ashli approaches Moesha with the opportunity to try out for the cheerleading squad but Moesha isn't interested. Aspiring cheerleader Kim persuades Moesha to audition with her for moral support. But when Kim makes the cut and Moesha doesn't, Moesha becomes jealous. Meanwhile, Frank learns that Dee is slightly older than he and begins to ridicule her. Hakeem goes into a feeding frenzy in hopes of making it on the basketball team.

Moesha turns 16 and is officially able to date. She anxiously enters the dating game...at least wants to but no one asks her out. After reluctantly accepting a date with Ohagi, Dee has a heart-to-heart talk with Moesha about sex.

Moesha loans Hakeem $20 but then has to wait for him to repay her. After two weeks, she angrily tracks him down and has to learn that his mother has been laid off from her job. With a little encouragement from the Mitchells, Hakeem applies for a job at the mall as athletic shoe salesman.

Moesha and Kim want to join the ""Council of Concerned Youth,"" an all-male organization. Whitlock, the leader, doesn't believe in girls having the right to join and butts heads with independent Mo. But after Moesha provides good ideas for an upcoming fund-raiser, Whitlock reluctantly allows Moesha and Kim to join.

Frank surprises Moesha with a brand new car, but she declines the car because it's a Saturn and not the Jeep she wants. Standing her ground, Mo persuades her father to let her find her own car, but not without complications.

The boys' annual ""list"" comes out and Moesha isn't pleased to discover that she's been named as having the ""biggest booty"". (Kim is named as having the ""biggest mouth"" and Niecy is named as having the ""smallest chest"".) When they try to discover the list's author, all roads turn to new student Quinton Brooks from New York. Moesha confronts Q and he denies it. He later invites her to see him perform at a club, and Moesha soon becomes intrigued by the new comer.

Verspielter Kredit
After passing on the Saturn, Moesha now receives her Jeep, but she already regrets it. After her car runs out of fuel, being short on money and bothering her parents for money and a ride, Frank and Dee reluctantly agree to let her have her own credit card for emergencies only. Then on her way to a party, Q is locked up and the only way to bail him out is by using her credit card.

Kim dreht durch
Kim becomes jealous when Moesha begins to hang out with her new friend Teresa. Then, when Teresa gets along well with Q too, Kim talks Moesha into believing that Teresa wants to steal him. A fight is the result, but it's Teresa and Kim who meet in the squared circle.

It's the annual Basket Auction at Crenshaw High. (The boys put together a basket, which is auctioned off to raise money, the girls then gets a date with the boy behind the basket they bought.) Moesha manages to get a list, but it's wrong and she ends up with Hakeem instead of her dream boy. Later, after hanging out together, Moesha and Hakeem accidentally kiss.

Terry Hightower, Crenshaw High's star basketball player, asks Moesha for help on the upcoming S.A.T. He asks her to write the test for him. Mo declines, but encourages Terry to at least try taking the test. After Terry scored big on the test, everyone believes Mo did it and Terry is subsequently forced into writing it again. Meanwhile, Dee urges Frank take do a fertility test.

When Hakeem shows up with his cousin Omar at the Mitchell's, everyone fears he could be another Hakeem. Instead he seems to be nice and responsible. Moesha, still grieving about her break-up with Q, goes out on a date with Omar. After attending a movie, they meet Omar's friend Tracy (who Moesha seems to believe may be Omar's boyfriend). Somehow puzzled, Moesha later tells Kim and Niecy that Omar might be gay. And with Kim and Niecy it doesn't take long until everyone in school knows the latest gossip. When Hakeem hears the news, Moesha realizes that she may have jeopardized their friendship.

Frank begins to hang out with the guys a lot that he ignores Dee (who wants Frank to be at home with her). After Frank's complaining doesn't calm down the situation, Dee decides to get even and hang out with the girls. Meanwhile, with Moesha visiting her cousin, Charisse, at Berkeley, Hakeem offers to baby-sit Myles. And with Myles in bed, he invites a date over, but Kim interrupts his plans.

Frank's nerdy nephew Clark visits. Alone the thought of Clark's visit sends the whole family a shiver down the back and Dee soon learns why. After his arrival, Clark doesn't waste a minute and turns everyone's life into a nightmare, including Dee's who tries to maintain an art show. Meanwhile, Q and Moesha's relationship hit the next phase.

Moesha wins four tickets on a radio show for the MTV MegaFest. For Kim, Niecy and Hakeem, it's clear who she'll take along with her. But when Moesha and Q reunite, it's five persons and four tickets. Q reassures everyone that it won't be a problem and he later wants to take along his four aspiring singing cousins, making it a nine for four. At the concert, Q's plan fails when Moesha and his cousins somehow manage to get in and he, Hakeem, Kim and Niecy are left in the cold. While Dee and Frank go out for the evening, they leave Myles in the care of a babysitter who turns into his worst nightmare. Back at the concert, Q and Hakeem meet Q's former girlfriend, Ebony, and her friend Lisa Leslie who have appeared to have been stood up by their dates. Q manages to con Ebony and Lisa into letting himself and Hakeem escort them into the concert. (Mission Accomplished!) Unfortunately, Kim and Niecy try to gain access to the concert but all plans

After Moesha sees Q with Ebony, their relationship freezes again. Kim and Niecy continue to try to gain access to the concert. As Moesha, Kim and Niecy all seem to give up on the evening, they run into Montell Jordan who tries to change Moesha's mind and escorts the girls to the concert. But only Moesha becomes the lucky girl after Kim and Niecy are caught in a stampede. Myles continues his nightmare with the mean babysitter. Inside the concert, Moesha and Q talk over their differences and end up arriving to the restaurant that Dee and Frank, along with Andell and Coach Vines, are attending. Frank finally meets Q. After receiving Moesha's and Q's ticket stubs, Kim and Niecy finally get into the concert but are saddened to learn that the concert is over. Q's cousins' plans to get a recording deal fail but they fulfill Kim and Niecy's night by performing a song for them.

Moesha returns from summer camp and has about one week left before she starts school at Bridgewood Academy. So she makes plans to go to the Labor Day Jammy with her friends and secretly wishes that she'll run into Q there, but she clashes with Frank when he wants her to go with him and Dee to her school's fundraiser. Moesha meets her new classmate, Haley Dillard, and together they con Frank into letting them ""hang out with Haley's friends."" At the Jammy, Moesha finds Q, but they both agree to just be friends.

Grandpa Roosevelt Mitchell visits along with Uncle Bernie. But Frank soon suffers when Grandpa treats him different than Bernie. Moesha tries to talk Q into attending her family's barbecue, but he declines.

Moesha begins her first day of school at Bridgewood Academy. She is introduced to snobby Mary Ellen Hobbs, the daughter of a friend of Dee's. Moesha and Dee both don't approve of Hakeem's relationship with Jennifer but Frank assures them that nothing's wrong with them dating. Later, after feeling guilty, Hakeem breaks up with Jennifer.

Dee decides it's time to redecorate the house. so she has a garage sale and encourages Moesha to donate any of her old junk. But when Moesha learns that Dee's trying to sell the old furniture that belonged to her mother, she loses her cool.

After her teacher gives her a 'D' on her creative writing assignment, Moesha writes a screenplay; imagining a world in 1945 where jazz and blues are the setting.

Q, Hakeem and Kim decide to merge their talents together and create their own group CPQ. After seeing her friends perform at The Den, Moesha decides to invite Haley, whose father is a record producer, to hear her friends sing, but she risks losing a friend in Haley who feels that Moesha is using her.

Moesha's new classmate, Jeremy Davis, shows an interest in her, but he later disappoints her when he tries too hard to impress her friends. Meanwhile, Dee goes on strike after no one seems to help her out around the house.

Kim accidentally hears Moesha and Niecy making fun of her weight. Upset, Kim gives them the cold shoulder when they all are supposed to dress as the ""Divas of Soul"" for the Halloween party at The Den. As Moesha and Niecy attempt to apologize to Kim, they all find themselves victims of gossiping behind each other's backs. Meanwhile, Myles catches the flu, forcing him to stay home and cancel ""trick-or-treating.""

Moesha becomes the manager of Q's group, CPQ, after a local radio station plays their record demo. But they're faced with a dilemma when Morris Day decides to sue them for resampling one of his songs. Dee can't seem to remember her first date with Frank.

Five months later, and Moesha still hasn't returned home. After Kim forgets to purchase tickets to a sold-out concert featuring R&B singer Brandy, Moesha decides to spend her weekend alone with her new beau, Aaron, a college student whom she met over the summer. But when Moesha starts to push the relationship further (mainly due to her strange suggestions), the two break up. Later, Moesha, Kim, Niecy and Hakeem attempt to get into the concert. Backstage, Moesha meets Brandy who gives her some advice.

Without Moesha around, Myles begins to miss his sister. Moesha helps her friends with their Homecoming preparations. Grandma Mitchell visits the family and stirs up a heated conversation over Moesha and Frank's disagreements. Myles tries to make an attempt to keep the family together (reminiscent to the 1997 movie Soul Food). After all the hostility dies down, Frank tells Moesha that he wants her to return home.

Dee convinces the family to join Myles in a family therapy session, but Moesha decides to ditch the session to hang out with her friends. Frank reschedules the session so that everyone can attend and everyone begins to open up and express their feelings towards one another.

Moesha and her friends visit Charisse, Moesha's cousin, at Maynard University during Prospective Freshman Weekend. While there, they tour the entire campus and meet new friends (Iris and Mervin) as well as Moesha's ex-boyfriend Aaron. Old sparks flame again for Moesha and Aaron, but she becomes more interested in Mervin. Later, Mervin slips Moesha a drug in her drink, but Aaron comes to her rescue. Meanwhile, Myles has a slumber party.

Now that they're a couple again, Moesha tries to discover what true love is all about. Niecy reveals that she's the first out of the group to have sex; prompting a curious Moesha with various questions about love and sex. Moesha and Kim visit the health clinic where Moesha prescribes for birth control pills. Later, Dee finds the pills in Moesha's purse; leading to a serious conversation about sex. Dee promises Moesha that she won't tell Frank about the pills. Moesha meets Aaron but her anticipation for a romantic evening turn into a nightmare when she learns that he has had many sexual partners. Upset, Moesha walks out of his life for good.

Moesha and Hakeem are bummed to learn that Eddie have them working on Christmas Eve. She tries to find a good excuse so that she can finish her last-minute shopping. An elder man visits the store to apply for a job, but Eddie tells him that they haven't hired anyone new in awhile. Later, the unemployed man is now dressed as Santa Claus and holds the entire store hostage.

Andell holds a tutoring program at The Den, and Moesha decides to write an article about the tutoring sessions in hopes of winning a newspaper's journalism contest. One of Myles' friends named Justin reveals a story that he has trouble reading (only so he can be around Moesha). So, Moesha decides to write a story on Justin's illiteracy but she forgets one important thing-- she didn't check the facts after Justin lied about not being able to read. Meanwhile, Frank goes on a diet after he becomes slightly overweight.

Moesha has decided to forego college since she's been offered a writing position at ""VIBE Magazine,"" a hip-hop journal. While her parents don't support her decision, her friends envy all the stars she'll meet at the magazine. However, it turns out that the position is not as a staff writer, but as a gopher. She's only submitting stories to the editor Joe Scott. Joe calls in the receptionist, Kasey, because she made a mistake on an important message from singer Baby Face. Everyone assumes Kasey will be fired, but she's surprisingly promoted to Marketing Director. Andrea, a co-worker, tells Moesha that Kasey probably slept with Joe to get the promotion, implying that Moesha may be propositioned too, since she's trying to become a staff writer. When Joe asks Moesha to a Mary J. Blige album-listening party, she assumes he's going to proposition her. She confides in Andell, admitting that she's just a gopher who's looking for her big break. Kasey, the former receptionist, has Moesha follow up on some incomplete messages she took. Niecy drops by Moesha's job because they've made plans to go to the movies. Moesha answers a phone call who happens to be Dr. Maya Angelou and decides to seize the moment to set up an interview with Dr. Maya Angelou as writer at the magazine. Moesha convinces Niecy to pretend to be her secretary. She then interviews Dr. Angelou in Joe's office. Dr. Angelou clues in on the fact that Moesha is hungry for recognition. Moesha confesses that she has decided to bypass college so she can work on her writing career. Dr. Angelou gives her a profound reason to reconsider college. Later, Joe praises Moesha on her writing, but apologizes that he will have to fire her for misrepresenting herself as staff writer. Moesha later tells her family that she has decided to go to college.

Meanwhile, Dee returns home from Jamaica but has to break the news to the family that she's decided to stay in Jamaica full-time to work on her education-consulting job.
